Join us for this classic example of a romantic ballet, Giselle. In the tradition of Swan Lake, Giselle is based on a retelling of the Slavic legend concerning the wilis, who are ghostly spirits of girls who have died before their wedding day.

Through classical ballet and pantomime, Act 1 opens with peasant girl, Giselle, enjoying the grape harvest with her friends. Through exuberant dancing and dramatic acting, she discovers she has been betrayed by her love, Prince Albrecht, and dies of a broken heart. Act 2 opens in a foggy cemetery, where Giselle rises from the grave and meets Myrtha, Queen of the Wilis, who wishes revenge for sweet Giselle.  In the both triumphant and serene finale at sunrise, Giselle rescues Albrecht from the vengeful wilis and her merciful act saves her from becoming a wili herself!  Come enjoy the beauty that comes through the power of forgiveness.
